Health Survey of São Paulo (ISA-Capital)

The population-based Health Survey of São Paulo (ISA-Capital) is a study conducted in collaboration between the university and the municipality, and aims to evaluate health conditions and use of health services in a representative sample (i.e., adolescents, adults and older adults) of urban residents of São Paulo, the most populous city in the Southern Hemisphere, located in the southeast of Brazil.

Three editions of the survey were conducted in 2003, 2008 and 2015, and data was collected including a broad range of issues affecting health (i.e., diseases and health conditions, disabilities, health status, health quality, mental health, smoking, alcohol consumption, nutrition and diet, physical activity and sedentary behaviors, sleep behaviors, use of treatment and preventive health services and access to medications).
